Released on February 3, 1939, and directed by Bill Roberts, this film features one of the most thrilling climaxes in Disney animation history. After Pluto is kicked out of the fancy dog show for his uncouth behavior, he finds himself in the position of a hero, forced to rescue Fifi the Peke from a burning building. This short is also historically significant as the last appearance of "pie-eyed" Mickey before his redesign by Fred Moore in Mickey's Surprise Party (1939). Seen around the 1:50 timestamp, this sequence show Mickey polishing Pluto as they prepare for judging.
