Mickey's Garden : Mickey Mouse and Giant Stag Beetle Original Animation Drawings - Group of 2 ! (Walt Disney, 1935).

This pair of impressive 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings capture the thrilling chase sequence from the theatrical shot, Mickey's Garden. In this Wilfred Jackson-directed short Mickey tries to free his garden of pests, though the pesticide he creates is more potent than he ever could have imagined. It causes him to hallucinate gigantic bugs that chase him and Pluto across the now massive garden. One of those chases is captured here! With this fleeing Mickey and the aggressive beetle found a few seconds apart starting near the 6:11 timestamp. The drawings are marked 107 and 25 in the lower right corners and are an amazing example of Disney's classic chase sequences and the animator's ability to create tension. With artists like Art Babbitt, Dick Huemer, and Ollie Johnston bringing the short to life it's no wonder the scene is so breathtaking!

The paper used by Disney studios in the 1920s-1930s contains a distinctive watermark, visible in one of the photos, which further attests to its authenticity.
