Society Dog Show : Original Mickey Mouse Animation Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1939).

This fantastic original production drawing from Society Dog Show (1939) capture Mickey Mouse in a charming early moment from this classic Disney short. Released on February 3, 1939, and directed by Bill Roberts, this film features one of the most thrilling climaxes in Disney animation history. After Pluto is kicked out of the fancy dog show for his uncouth behavior, he finds himself in the position of a hero, forced to rescue Fifi the Peke from a burning building. This short is also historically significant as the last appearance of "pie-eyed" Mickey before his redesign by Fred Moore in Mickey's Surprise Party (1939). Seen around the 1:50 timestamp, this sequence show Mickey polishing Pluto as they prepare for judging. The character is illustrated in graphite and color pencil on 12-field, 5-peghole animation paper. With age-related toning and edge wear from production use, this vintage drawing remain in good condition, a true collectible for classic Disney animation fans!
