Beauty and the Beast : Gaston Original Rough Animation Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1991).

"Gaston is the best and the rest is all drips!" Gaston may be the town hero and the best hunter around, but he has his bad days too. Luckily he has his good friend and minion LeFou to cheer him up after everything goes wrong. The villain was a challenge for the artists on the team because of the level of realism he required, and was the first villain that Disney Legend Andreas Deja supervised the animation of. He would later supervise both Jafar and Scar as well as heroes like Hercules, or Lilo… The drawing is rendered on 16 field 5-peghole animation paper, was created for the eponymous song "Gaston" when LeFou and the crowd at the tavern sing Gaston's praises to try and cheer the hunter up after Belle rejected his wedding proposal. You can find this pose starting at about 28:23 as he slowly begins to smile and stands from his enormous animal skin chair, surrounded by trophies from his hunting trips.

A Walt Disney Pictures stamp appears at the bottom of the sheet, reinforcing its authenticity.

Condition : This hard-to-find drawing from the animated film is in very good condition with light edge and handling wear.

Size : 43 x 31 cm

The drawing is sold unframed.
