Lucky Number : Donald Duck Original Storyboard Art by Nick George (Walt Disney, 1951).
Huey, Dewey, and Louie want to surprise their Uncle Donald Duck after they find a winning raffle ticket for a fancy car in this scene. Crafted over 75 years ago for the theatrical cartoon Lucky Number, this storyboard capture Donald trying to sabotage his nephews' thoughtful trick for disturbing his workplace. By the hand of master story man Nick George (1910-1977), who joined the studio in the early 1930s as an inbetweener. He soon moved to the story department where he would remain for the rest of his career, working alongside artists like Carl Barks and Jack Hannah to create incredible storyboards and animated shorts. He would primarily stick to Donald Duck, but would also work on some Goofy, Chip and Dale, and Mickey shorts. This storyboard seem to be early draft of the story beats from the Jack Hannah-directed short Lucky Number like when Huey, Dewey, and Louie use a disguise to get Uncle Donald to fuel their car.
