"Hey, Goofy! More steam!" "Gosh! Steam's low." Goofy is charged with shoveling the coal into the engine of Mickey's tugboat (a task bound to spin out of control) in the Clyde Geronimi-directed theatrical short Tugboat Mickey, released on 4/26/1940. The film follows Goofy, Mickey Mouse, and Donald Duck as they clumsily answer an SOS at sea (they realize too late that the SOS is a fictional radio program). This original animation drawing feature the lovable Goofy as seen at the 2:56 mark of the film. The drawing is rendered in graphite and color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The drawing show minor studio handling and edge wear with light toning. Some of the best Goofy close-up drawing we've seen to date! The condition of this vintage artwork is very good, the state of conservation is exceptional.
