Offered here is an authentic Japanese shikishi board featuring artwork from the universe of legendary manga and anime creator Leiji Matsumoto. The board depicts Captain Harlock (known as Albator), the iconic space pirate hero created by Matsumoto. The illustration captures the character’s distinctive profile and facial scar, rendered in the unmistakable minimalist style associated with the artist.

The lower right corner bears the Japanese title わが青春のアルカディア (Waga Seishun no Arcadia / My Youth in Arcadia), referencing the 1982 anime film that tells the origins of Captain Harlock and forms a central part of Matsumoto’s shared science-fiction universe.
