The Whoopee Party : Mickey Mouse Original Animation Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932).
This original animation drawing has party host Mickey slicing up a ham to music, as if he was playing the ham like a violin! The Whoopee Party was directed by Wilfred Jackson and followed a fun-filled, crazy party Mickey and Minnie hosted with their friends. Mickey, Goofy (aka Dippy Dawg), and Horace Horsecollar are tasked with preparing refreshments for everyone as Mickey readies the meat for the sandwiches. Playing the violin ham, this image of Mickey can be found near the 1:29 timestamp of the short and is numbered frame 26 of its sequence in the bottom right corner. Rendered with graphite and colored pencil, on a sheet of 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. This vintage piece of production artwork shows light production handling wear with light debris, minor smudging on the linework, edge wear, and light age-related toning.
The paper used by Disney studios in the 1920s-1930s contains a distinctive watermark, visible in one of the photos, which further attests to its authenticity.
