Society Dog Show : Mickey Mouse and Pluto Pair of Animation Drawings (Walt Disney, 1939).
"Oh boy, are you gonna be handsome!?" Mickey gets his best pal Pluto ready to impress the dog show world in this wonderful pair of animation drawings from the production of the theatrical short Society Dog Show. This Bill Roberts-directed short notably marked Mickey's last short with his classic design as well as his 100th appearance in a Disney cartoon. This set of images can be found near the start of the short, with Pluto seen first as he's brushed off then Mickey when he goes to polish Pluto's nose. Rendered in graphite with color pencil. Paired together, these vintage pieces of production artwork make a stunning display celebrating Disney's Mouse and his beloved pet! In very good condition with age-related toning, minor edge wear, slight debris, handling wear with light superficial wrinkles on Mickey's drawing, and slight linework smudging.
The paper used by Disney studios in the 1920s-1930s contains a distinctive watermark, visible in one of the photos, which further attests to its authenticity.
