Pinocchio : Stromboli Original Animation Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940).

From Walt Disney's second animated feature length film, the immoral Italian puppeteer Stromboli strikes fear into the wooden heart of Pinocchio in this original 12-field, 5-peghole production drawing. Animated under the supervision of Disney Legend Vladimir "Bill" Tytla, this scene captures Stromboli's sinister nature as he reaches for an axe, threatening Pinocchio with the chilling words, "When you are growing too old -- you will make good firewood." Crafted over 85 years ago, this piece is rendered in graphite over blue pencil with touches of red pencil. Featured the bottom right corner of the drawing is the number "1" noting this as the first drawing of its sequence, and a studio stamp indicating the production, sequence, and scene numbers. There is also a dialog note on the upper edge emphasizing the word "Growing". This vintage piece of production artwork is a fabulous display celebrating Disney's animation legacy!

The paper used by Disney studios in the 1920s-1930s contains a distinctive watermark, visible in one of the photos, which further attests to its authenticity.

Condition is very good, with a slight tear on the right side of the sheet (See photos).

Size : 30 x 25 cm

The drawing is sold unframed.
