Porky stands behind some of his "greatest hits" in this very rare long-sold out hand-painted limited-edition cel, with only 100 cels made (of which this is #72). With a career spanning eight decades, Porky Pig is one of the most recognizable characters in the Looney Tunes lineup. In fact, Porky was the studio's first animated superstar, predating both Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. Initially, Porky was a bumbling, stuttering pig of rotund proportions. Leon Schlesinger asked director Robert Clampett to redesign Porky, creating the cute character he is today. Porky's approximate image size is 6.25" x 7.75" on a stiff cel. The background reproducing fourteen classic Porky Pig cartoon lobby cards, some with Daffy Duck, and one publicity piece from I Haven't Got a Hat measures 13.75" x 17.75" with an image size of 11.75" x 15.75". The cel includes a Clampett Studio seal in the lower left and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The cel is in Fine condition with very light handling wear.
