Sailor Moon S: The Movie - Kakeru Ozora Original Animation Drawing (Toei Animation, 1994).
"So that comet was... Princess Snow Kaguya?!" "Princess Snow Kaguya? What a lovely name." Feeling feverish to the point of delusion, astronomer Kakeru Ozora is presented in this original animation drawing from Sailor Moon S: The Movie. Theatrically debuting in December 1994 during the series' third season, this film followed the manga side story The Lover of Princess Kaguya with an ancient ice entity planning to freeze the Earth after arriving from deep space by comet. Dubbed Princess Snow Kaguya by Kakeru upon discovery of its comet, the villain's evil energies begin to take hold of him and grow even stronger when the monster reveals itself in Kakeru's apartment beginning near the 37:18 timestamp.
Rendered graphite and colored pencil to frame-filling closeup. A magnificent piece of Japanese animation.
