TOM AND JERRY : Original Animation Cel and Drawing (MGM, 1965)

The Tom and Jerry Show : Jerry Original Animation Cel and Matching Drawing (MGM, 1965).

Jerry's taken up a new hobby with Tom's unintended assistance in this hysterical animation production cel and matching drawing from a segment bridge in their very first television series, Chuck Jones's The Tom and Jerry Show. As the duo's third caretaker, former Warner Bros.' powerhouse Jones would produce 34 all-new shorts for the MGM series between '63 - '67. Chuck Jones (1912-2002) would also be instrumental in helping the iconic duo make their initial jump to the small screen around 1965 with The Tom and Jerry Show on CBS which was produced as an anthology series featuring compilations of their 100+ previous theatrical appearance with short sequences (typically around 10-15 seconds) of all-new animation to bridge the one-reels in each episode. From one of those brief interstitials, Jerry nonchalantly begins knitting with Tom's tail fur only to effectively skin him while creating an entirely new second cat who immediately goes on to chase Jerry along with the nearly nude original Tom.
